A very nice and helpful little book

This book (published 2000) covers the current topics in Symbolic Dynamics. I believe it is for the most part well-written, fairly self-contained (with references for background), and suitable for advanced undergraduates to researchers (as a nice reference). The topics covered range from entropy and ergodic theory to matrix invariants of SFTs to the study of number representations. Here is the Table of Contents:
