Franz Brentano (1838-1917) led an intellectual revolution that sought to revitalize German-language philosophy and to reverse its post-Kantian direction. The editing of this volume is so precisely structured that it must be complimented. Follow the essays in their edited order and they will build on each other in a way that is highly illuminating and helpful. The scholarship of this volume is superlative and it also must be complimented. Each author or set of authors centers on the “Dokounta-Threshold”, as was Brentano’s central area of concentration for his psychognosy. The following consists of the logically arranged treasure of thought:
1. “relation to Aristotle” (full philosophy of mind treatment) 20-45
2. “genetic-descriptive-explanatory” psychology 66-98
3. “action-relation-direction” of “intentionality” 131-149
4. “presentation-relation-existence” of “epistemology” 149-168
5. “ontological significance” of “inexistence & transcendence” 197-220
