Decent Encyclopedia, I Guess

This book might be more appropriately described as an encyclopedia. On the positive side, it's fairly exhaustive in the topics it covers. However, it is divided into a ridiculously large number of sections, subsections, sub-subsections, etc.- many of which are less than a page long! The biggest problem, though, is that the organization appears to be rather haphazard unless you are already an expert in the field. There's little discussion of how the topics fit together, or of what point the section/chapter is building to.
In fact, you might describe this book as reading an impeccably organized research notebook. Nearly any topic has an entry, but any discussion of how the topics relate together is absent. So I would say this book is only worthwhile for researchers already well-versed in the material who need an encyclopedic reference to organize material they already are familiar with.
